Details
This Costumers of Color 501(c)(3) historical costuming event happens annually in Seattle, WA! We gather for a fourth year to celebrate our unwavering commitment to multicultural costuming excellence and host an 18th-century Symposium & Salon as it should have been: open to the global community. If you are POC and would like to wear the clothing your ancestors might have worn during the 18th-century you are most welcome to. **If you are not a POC please stick to European/ American 18th-century fashions.
There will be an optional Friday dinner and Sunday brunch for those interested. Details are in the program book here.
The Saturday event will be comprised of two sessions; the Symposium and the Salon.
The 18th-Century Symposium (period clothing optional) will begin at 10am with a morning of classes and lectures on 18th-century games, sword fighting, dancing, daily life, and fashion. A fundraiser lunch will be available from 12pm to 1pm. The 18th-Century Symposium will end at 2pm.
The 18th-Century Salon (period clothing required) will begin at 6pm for a cocktail hour, followed by historical dancing, historical games, and socializing in the Drawing Room and Ballroom. Doors close at 11pm and our group nightcap at the runs from 11pm to 12:30am. #costumersofcolor #rococosalon
Photo galleries of our previous Salon events are available on SmugMug here. A video overview of our previous salon is posted on our YouTube here and will give you a feel for how this event will unfold.
Tickets are not refundable, but you are welcome to resell your ticket. If you do, please notify Gigi by sending her an email with the new ticket holder’s name at [email protected].
